Proud to be a classmate with Diver Ed at COA long ago. He and his sweetheart Captain Evil are single handedly influencing a whole generation of kids (and adults) who will care more deeply about the health of the ocean and its inhabitants. What a great standup comedy show as well! Love and laughter. So glad I got to go out on the Starship Enterprise for the Dive In Theater show today and to have them back in Bar Harbor.

So glad to meet this young artist and her science teacher mom, for an afternoon painting session. We saw lobster boats coming in and the four masted schooner going out, and I got my feet wet in a tide pool by accident.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of doing a private painting lesson for a real children's book author and illustrator, Etaine Raphael! I love her style, a combination of paint and collage. Her second book launches tomorrow, Sat. August 14th! I'll post a link below to the podcast she did last night.

Painting at home on my own between clients, in a bound book, long horizontal scenes, is fun! I always use acid free paper so the paintings are archival.

Another lovely day at the beach painting with a father/daughter duo! This summer it's been a delight not only teaching painting to families, it's been a sweet delight witnessing their interactions with each other. In this case, a child who adores art kept running over to check on how dad was doing, then helping him make adjustments. Such mutual regard and respect in both directions! We all had fun looking into tide pools while washes of paint dried.
