THIS ISN’T JUST A RODEO… THIS IS PRCA. AND IT’S HAPPENING RIGHT HERE IN BANNING.
A lot of people see a rodeo and think it’s simply cowboys & cowgirls getting on horses and bulls. But if you’ve never followed professional rodeo, you may not realize just how big of a deal it is to bring a PRCA rodeo of this caliber to a community like Banning.
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) represents the highest level of professional rodeo competition in North America. Cowboys and cowgirls travel thousands of miles, competing for money, standings and ultimately a chance to make it to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
There are approximately 760 PRCA rodeos across the United States and Canada each year, and only 42 in California.
STAGECOACH DAYS IS ONE OF THEM. 🤠
And this year, we’re bringing $71,500 IN ADDED MONEY, including $10,000 added to every PRCA event and $10,000 added to WPRA barrel racing.
That added money matters. It attracts professional contestants. It brings horses, livestock, trailers, families and fans to our community. And when those contestants enter the arena in Banning, they aren’t just competing in a local rodeo, they are competing at the professional level.
Even more incredible, only a fraction of PRCA rodeos are streamed on Cowboy Channel Plus, giving fans beyond our community the opportunity to watch professional rodeo action from Banning.
So why are we volunteers so passionate about this?
Because Stagecoach Days is bigger than two nights at the arena.
It represents Banning.
It represents our history.
It represents western heritage and the people who have worked for generations to keep it alive.
It gives local kids the opportunity to see professional athletes competing in a sport that is deeply rooted in our community, and it puts Banning, California, on a national rodeo stage.
For those of us who volunteer countless hours, make phone calls, chase sponsors, sell tickets, build fences, move dirt, coordinate contestants, worry about budgets, lose sleep and then somehow keep going… 😂
THIS is why we do it.
We believe Banning deserves something BIG.
We believe our community deserves an event that brings people together.
And we believe not every city gets the opportunity to host a PRCA rodeo.
We are one of the lucky few. ❤️🤠
