Welcome to Sunset Speedway Park, a ¼-mile bullring dirt track located in scenic Banks, Oregon. The facility, owned by Jerry Schram, is hands down a premier facility featuring exciting racing that will keep you on the edge of you seat all night long. This fine facility is just minutes from downtown Portland. From April until October you can get your racing fix at this beautiful facility which compe

tes weekly primarily on Saturday nights. Regular classes in action include the NW Extreme Sprint, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Dwarfs, 4-Bee’s, NW Extreme Modifieds, and the Womens division. The facility will see several appearances by the touring NW Extreme Late Model Series as well as the Northwest Wingless Tour. The venue will also host events for the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region, Wild Wild West Modified Speedweek, and the brand new Micro Sprint division. This Saturday Night we will kick off a very exciting June with our annual Kids Night.

All Kids 12 and Under will be FREE at the front gate. So Bring out the entire family for a fun night at the Bullring.

For the first time in 2026, we will even be featuring a family favorite on the Bullring with the Dwarf Cars. Please help us welcome the PHRA Dwarf cars, as well as the IMCA Modifieds, HVS American Classics, Bare Bones Pure Stocks, Late Models, and PMSA Micro Sprints.

Gates will open at 4pm with racing at 6pm. We promise this is one you will not want to miss with the family.

Our Friends at Vames Wang Sosa Hood Law Firm want to see the Bare Bones Pure Stocks enter the Kidney Bean Classic Team Race.

So much so that they have put up the money to cover the first full 10 Bare Bones Pure Stock teams that sign up this Saturday to race the event.

We are set for an amazing night this Saturday, and we hope to see everyone join us on a night bigger than just the on track action.

The Kidney Bean Classic, A Night for Renal Awareness.

Headlined by a $400 to win Team Race that will take place over 50 laps with 2 drivers required per car, and the driver swap taking place after 25 laps. This will put teams driving Bare Bones Pure Stocks, Hillsboro Vac & Sew American Classics, and Checkered Flag Asphalt IMCA Stock Cars against one another in an exhibition race. The highest finishing pure stock team will also receive $100 for their efforts, and Transaction Transmission partnered with the Speedway to offer the 5-speed Bonus, which will go to back 5 teams at $100 each.
Cost to enter this extra event on the night is $20 per driver (only $40 total per team)

We will also have a full card of racing for the aforementioned Bare Bones Pure Stocks, and Checkered Flag Asphalt Stock Cars. As well as the IMCA Modifieds, and Raven Hauling Open 4cyl divisions.

Front Gates Open at 4pm, with racing scheduled for 6pm.

We can not wait to spend a Saturday with everyone at the Banks Bullring on a night so special to our heart.

This Saturday Night we bring to you the Kidney Bean Classic. A night for Renal Awareness.

This night will feature the IMCA Modifieds, Raven Hauling Open 4cyls, Bare Bones Pure Stocks, and the Checkered Flag Asphalt Stock Cars.

It will also feature the Banks Team Nationals, a special team race exhibition. 2 Driver, 1 car, 50 lap exhibition between American Classic, Stock Car, and Pure Stock classes. Including a driver swap after the first 25 laps, before racing to the finish. This is a perfect example to show over this evenings planned racing action, that sometimes you just need a partner to help you kick this diseases butt.

Some nights mean more than just what happens on the racetrack. This one is one of those nights.

Renal Awareness is a cause close to this tracks heart. Kidney disease is a growing public health concern in Oregon and across the United States. 💚

This is one disease often overlooked and under-recognized.

• About 1 in 7 adults in the U.S. has chronic kidney disease (CKD), and nearly 90% do not know they have it because symptoms can remain silent for years.

• An estimated 37 million Americans are currently living with kidney disease.

• In Oregon alone, more than 6,400 people are living with end-stage renal disease, requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant to survive.

Major risk factors for kidney disease include:
• High blood pressure
• Diabetes
• Smoking
• Obesity
• Heart disease
• Family history of kidney disease

Kidney disease often develops slowly over time, making routine lab work extremely important. Doctors commonly monitor:
• Creatinine
• eGFR (kidney filtration rate)
• Urine protein levels

Early kidney disease may have no symptoms at all. As it progresses, symptoms can include:
• Swelling
• Fatigue
• Changes in urination
• Nausea
• High blood pressure
• Itching
• Shortness of breath

It’s not all gloom though, remember
Early detection and treatment can significantly slow the progression of kidney disease through:
• Blood pressure control
• Diabetes management
• Hydration
• Quitting smoking
• Reducing salt intake
• Regular medical follow-up

Kidney donation also saves lives. A single kidney donor can dramatically improve or extend the life of someone living with kidney failure and waiting for a transplant.

We thank our friends down the road at Transaction Transmission for adding to this weekends Team Event prize money.

The back 5 teams at the conclusion of the Banks Team Nationals will receive the 5-speed bonus. A $100 cash bonus.

Maybe it was some bad luck on track. Maybe it was a driver and pit guy splitting the duties and had a rough going (we won’t tell who’s fault it was). Maybe it’s a family team out making memories on track, not worried about the finishing spot. Transaction Transmission has your back and covered with some cash to get back on the road after this fun event.

Remember this event open to all HVS American Classic, Bare Bones Pure Stock, and CFA IMCA Stock Car teams to enter.
