ol programing, and classes have always been a fundamental part of Robinson Ballet's commitment to increasing dance awareness. Since 1985 the Company has reached thousands of children with its educational programs. The growing in-school presence of Achieve touches children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience dance. Robinson Ballet dancers and teachers travel to schools and instruct students in fundamental dance technique and perform short pieces highlighting different styles of dance. These programs and classes help build future audiences and encourage an appreciation of dance as an art form

As we get closer to the start of a new school season we want to introduce you to another addition to our teaching staff: Alexandra Sleight!

Alexandra began dancing at the age of 3 with the Robinson Ballet Company, and continued as a student and member of the company through her high school graduation in 2026. A Maine native, she developed a deep appreciation for the art of dance; studying a diversity of styles including jazz, ballet, modern, and contemporary with a heavy focus and love for tap and hip-hop. Having worked for two years as a front desk receptionist and substitute teacher, she looks forward to growing her connection with the school as she pursues her Associates Degree in Accounting through CMCC. Alexandra is grateful for the opportunity to inspire younger dancers through a shared passion for movement and to help build an environment that fosters creativity and inclusion.

Fall is getting closer and as we get ready to welcome our students, both returning and new, we also want to welcome Rubie to our talented instructing staff!

Rubie is from Bangor and grew up dancing with Robinson Ballet. She graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 2026 with a bachelor's degree in Dance Education Entrepreneurship and has been teaching at various dance schools in Maine and Connecticut for 7 years. She also works as the choreographer for Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy summer program. During her time at Central, she was a member of the school's student dance company and was chosen by the dance faculty to present her choreography at the American College Dance Association's New England conference two years in a row.
