We'd like to welcome our new Executive Director, Melissa Smith, to the Robinson Ballet team.
Melissa spent the last year serving as the President of the Board of Directors, and has been involved with Robinson since her daughter, Mckenley, starting dancing here almost a decade ago. She is excited to move into this leadership role to help with the direction and development of both the Robinson Ballet Company and the School of Robinson Ballet.
Melissa will spend the summer transitioning into the position and says she is "excited to become part of such a special organization with deep roots in the Bangor Community. I look forward to strengthening relationships with local businesses through sponsorships for the 50th Season, while also collaborating with fellow nonprofit organizations to expand awareness, appreciation, and access to dance and the arts throughout the community."
Melissa and her husband, Michael, are the owners of Evolve Fitness and 11 Central in Bangor, as well as Perry's Lobster Shack in Surry. She is a graduate of the University of Maine and has been involved in various Downtown Bangor organizations since moving to the area in 2005.
