In May my husband Ron and my daughter Natalie, both in our production of Julius Caesar, and I went to Italy. The second evening in Rome we took a walk and 2 blocks from our Airbnb we came across an archeological dig 3 city blocks long. It was immediately a point of fascination and I took a lot of photos.

Come to find out we'd stumbled upon what is called the Curia of Pompey, a meeting hall located within the larger complex of the Theatre of Pompey. Today, this historic location corresponds to the Largo di Torre Argentina archaeological site in modern-day Rome, which is open to visitors as an open-air museum and is the exact site where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The tall tree in the photo marks the spot where Caesar was felled.

Working on this production has been a great labor of love. My love and thanks to all the actors and designers who have labored with me and to all the folks who have been able to come out and support our efforts.
