We love visiting Art 101, just south of Bandon! If you’re looking for something fun, colorful and inspiring to explore along the Oregon Coast, this wonderfully creative place is well worth discovering.
Art 101 is the creative home of artist Angela Haseltine Pozzi, founder of Washed Ashore. After retiring from the nonprofit, Angela began this new chapter transforming discarded materials into imaginative art while encouraging creativity, reuse and less waste.
Angela herself is an absolute delight to visit with! Her warmth, creativity and enthusiasm make every visit to Art 101 even more memorable.
The property is filled with incredible sculptures made from repurposed materials, including Bandonia the Phoenix. Inside, you can experience the colorful Bioluminescent Sea Cave, browse original artwork and gifts, hunt for treasures in the Polka Dot Thrift Shop and Artistic Resale, or enjoy a snack with coffee or tea.
Be sure to explore the bead room, filled with exotic glass beads, stone, crystal, shell, decorative buttons and other treasures for your next creative project.
Another delightful surprise is the player piano! With a $5 purchase, visitors can sit down and experience its magic—although Angela says it takes a little leg power to fill the room with music and laughter!
If you love fiber, beads, art, thrifting or discovering wonderfully creative places, add Art 101 to your list of places to explore on the Southern Oregon Coast.
