Once upon a time, right here in our own galaxy, was a big roll of the dice for everyone on board. It was lined up as Fox’s blockbuster for summer 1977, and George Lucas was betting the house on a heartfelt nod to classic sci-fi serials. No one could predict how a space flick of this magnitude would stack up at the box office.
