Kwanzan cherry trees are my absolute favorite.
They were imported from Japan to the US in 1903.
Name Origin: Its true Japanese botanical name is ‘Sekiyama’, but it was named Kanzan after a mountain in Japan, which loosely translates to “bordering mountain”. The spelling “Kwanzan” stems from a mistranslation that occurred shortly after its introduction to the West.
They have the most beautiful delicate pompom type blooms in the softest ballet pink.
