Bogus Gallery is pleased to announce the next exhibition in our gallery program, Constructed & Undone featuring the paintings of Josh Brooks.

The exhibition curated by Jon Root opens Friday June 12th, 6-9pm during the art walk!

This solo exhibition highlights the works of our senior Bogus Gallery studio member Josh Brooks:
My paintings occupy a space between figuration and collapse, where the human image is both constructed and undone through material force. Working with industrial paints and unconventional tools, I build surfaces that resist control, allowing viscosity, gravity, and material interaction to actively shape the image.
The figure emerges through a process of accumulation and erosion. Layers are poured, dragged, and disrupted, producing moments of clarity that are just as quickly obscured. This instability is central to the work: the body is never fixed, but continually shifting between presence and disappearance. What remains is not a stable likeness, but a residue of perception, something felt rather than fully seen.

Bogus Gallery is pleased to announce our next Live Film Scoring Experience: Ghost In The Shell: The 1995 Animated Film!

The event features a full screening of Ghost in the Shell with subtitles while our house band XYLENES (led by Hunter Batchelder) improvises the music score in real time! It’s a cross between a film screening, live band show and a night at the movies.

If you missed our previous live scoring events (Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, The Shining, Nightmare on Elm St. 3) you aren’t going to want to miss this one! It’s a one of a kind experience.

Costumes are welcome! (not required) We’ll have drinks and concessions available with an intermission midway.

Bogus Gallery is pleased to announce TOTAL ECLIPSE a contemporary jazz double bill featuring two of the most exciting musical groups Baltimore has to offer!

Hunter, Koray, and Zulfugar are a trio of improvisers with one foot in fusion, jazz, and funk, and the other foot in outspace. This high-energy group straddles this line, playing mind-bending impromptu compositions that expand horizons.

Justin Taylor is a pianist who effortlessly captivates audiences with a sound both soulful and sophisticated. His mastery of his instrument and passion for his craft make him a true standout in the industry. He is joined by his band of excellent players, elevating JT’s sound and character.

After the live music, DJ HappyJack will keep the party going, playing groovy tunes from the past and present.
