This was my favorite project from Intro to Design this past semester! We were tasked with illustrating a children’s book. We could appropriate an existing story, come up with our own, or use AI 😬
I chose to appropriate ‘s retelling of the folktale Mama Glo. We were able to use any medium for our “image making” so I chose water color and ink. Since I was working analog I scanned multiple versions of each illustration in, edited the final versions in photoshop and then laid out the type using In Design. After many revisions and late nights in the studio I had my little book!
I learned so much through doing this project. We did have physical books printed as well, having the finished version in hand is so special. 🥲
