Giovedì 8 ottobre, il Conservatorio A. Scarlatti ospiterà un prezioso seminario offerto dai responsabili del RIPM, la Banca dati internazionale dei periodici musicali. Il seminario sarà preceduto dal saluto del Direttore M° Mauro Visconti
Sala Sollima, ore 10-13.

Il Répertoire International de la Presse Musicale, preziosa banca dati internazionale dedicata ai periodici musicali, sarà oggetto di un importante seminario aperto a studenti, dottorandi e docenti del Conservatorio e dell'Università di Palermo, oltre che a pubblico esterno interessato alla ricerca.

Ospiti del Conservatorio di Trapani in occasione della rassegna "Scontriniana", Benjamin Knysak (RIPM Executive Editor) e Nicoletta Betta (RIPM Senior Editor) si trasferiranno a Palermo per offrire un momento unico di conoscenza e approfondimento sulla banca dati, a partire da contenuti, processi di acquisizione e modalità di ricerca.

La presentazione della piattaforma, organizzata e coordinata da Federica Riva, bibliotecaria del Conservatorio A. Scontrino, sarà integrata da approfondimenti sulle riviste siciliane digitalizzate e recentemente aggiunte in collaborazione con Conservatorio, Università e Biblioteca comunale di Palermo, con la partecipazione dei bibliotecari Dario Lo Cicero e Consuelo Giglio, dei professori Pietro Misuraca e Anna Tedesco (Università di Palermo) e dello storico Salvatore Requirez, esperto Assessorato Beni Culturali Comune di Palermo.

In the 1950s, the jazz press began to observe a new figure on the horizon: Elvis Presley. The occasional bête noire of the jazz press, Presley symbolized the numerous musical changes of this decade.
