Music at Grace Concert Series

Our 2022-2023 Music at Grace Concert Series season is filled with many opportunities where you can enjoy music from the musicians of Grace Church as well as musicians from our community. Several community ensembles including The Handel Choir of Baltimore and Bach in Baltimore have annual concerts here. This year we welcome to our concert series Baltimore Musicales, an organization that is dedicate

d to preserving the art of the song recital, providing performance opportunities for outstanding regional artists, and building community through shared musical experiences. It is always a joy to welcome these wonderful musical organizations into our church and sanctuary. With the recent renovation of our large Moeller organ, we will highlight this beautiful instrument each year by inviting a concert organist to perform an organ recital. This concert season will showcase a Baltimore resident and the world-renowned organist, Felix Hell on Friday, April 28 at 7 p.m. In addition to his phenomenal playing, Felix also has a passion for sharing his love of the organ with others. During that April weekend he will be presenting an organ demonstration to Grace’s Preschool and other area preschools in addition to providing an organ masterclass for area organists. Other notable concerts this year include a Christmas Concert highlighting Grace’s Chancel Choir on Sunday, December 18 at 3 p.m. This year’s concert is in collaboration with the Harford Choral Society under the direction of Kathryn Locke. The concert will feature the beautiful Christmas Oratorio by Camille Saint-Saëns, several double choir anthems as well as some delightful carols accompanied by four-hand piano. One other concert not to miss will be a return of Kathryn Locke and Chris Schroeder sharing music for two pianos and four hands on our two Steinway pianos. The concert will feature Edvard Grieg’s beautiful Old Norwegian Romance with Variations and the humorous musical suite Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns.
