Our 2nd ever Artist Happy Hour was just over a year ago ! 🖤Friends with Studios was just getting started a year ago- but don’t worry we will get back to it as soon as we can! FwS mission is to gather artists together & make new friends! And that, we shall. Happy Monday y’all!

Absolutely in love with the “Home Series” by 🙌
“Before s**t really hit the fan I was busier than ever with work (yay) but in hectic times I always long for slow seasons when I have time to make work for fun and here it is whether I like it or not. Some days I’m inspired and some days I’m not and that’s cool. While in quarantine, I decided to create a series of exact size felt interpretations of some of my favorite household things.”

“In these explorations, I was aiming for a structured, layered look combined with a loose, atmospheric energy. I am an abstract painter who works in acrylics, ink, graphite, chalk, and charcoal, occasionally incorporating collage elements. After ten years overseas and in New York City, I recently moved back to Baltimore, and I work from my home studio.”

Loving these new cut paper pieces by made in her home studio since the stay-at-home order began. 💛

“I’ve really been enjoying small works. I feel more in control when I can complete something relatively quickly. I’ve also been looking to playful items that evoke some sense of nostalgia. A notable exception to that is my hand cut paper plate, “Let Them Eat Plate” which was meant to be personal but definitely has a whole new meaning with all the food hoarding and job loss going on.”

I don’t know about you all, but it’s taken me a minute to settle into working from home & the strangeness that is right now. I’ve been wanting to reach out on here & say hi.
