The Mobtown Ballroom, located in historic Pigtown, is Baltimore's premiere location for social dance events, dance classes, live music, conferences, weddings, and general mayhem. At the Ballroom you will find dancing, burlesque, art shows, and pretty much everything you could want in an evening out. A restored 1870s church, the space boasts a 2,500 square foot sprung dance floor, a 1,200 square foot stage, and a full bar.

This Friday is your first chance to get in the running to win $1,000! Our Glory of Mobtown Competition is a progressive mix & match: Win any Friday night between now and our anniversary celebration on November 5-7 and you'll be in the finals on November 11th.

Here's how it works:
-Sign up online for $10 to compete tomorrow night, or any of the Friday nights leading up to the event. You can also sign up in-person, but signing up in advance helps us make sure we have balance between the leads and follows.
-Enter alone, and we will pair you randomly with partners. Each week the format will be slightly different, as that is our chaotic style.
-Come to the dance tomorrow and be ready around 10:30/10:45pm.
-There will be a winning lead and a winning follow each Friday. If you win on any of the Fridays, you will be in the finals at the Anniversary weekend.
-The finals are on 11/6 during the Friday night of our anniversary weekend. For the finals, dancers will be randomly paired with someone of the opposite role and judged as a couple. Winning couple wins $1,000.

This is a great opportunity to 1) practice competing in a low-stakes way, 2) show off, and 3) potentially win glory and money. GET ON IT. Link in our linktree and on our website.

NonStop Broadway puts YOU center stage, with the rest of the room as your chorus. Grab a song and jump up to sing, or stay in your seat and sing along with the room. Either way, you’re part of the show!

Those who purchase CAST tickets get the chance to step up and perform on stage.

Prefer to cheer and sing from the crowd? CHORUS tickets let you be in The Room Where It Happens — no pressure, just full-volume fun.

• BYO snacks, but please clean up after yourself (we may have some small things, but the kitchen won't be open).
• Watch your kids. This space isn't built for kids, and the staff can't be responsible for them. Please make sure that you're with them or someone (not staff) is with them when you aren't.
• This is open to anyone who wants to dance in the afternoon, but you have to behave appropriately around the kids, or we end you.

Announcement: $1,000 PRIZE!

THE GLORY OF MOBTOWN COMPETITION
*A progressive Mix & Match that starts THIS FRIDAY*

Our 15th anniversary celebration is November 5th, 6th, and 7th, and the Friday night dance will feature the finals of the GLORY OF MOBTOWN competition. This competition spans 5 weeks, culminating in an epic showdown on the Friday night of the Anniversary. The winning couple will get $1,000.

How it works:
* Enter the Mix & Match (by yourself; we randomly assign partners) on any the five Fridays leading up to the event: 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, or 10/30.
* The format will be different and a surprise each time, but always a mix and match, and always Lindy Hop.
* The winners of each Friday night prelim will be in the finals at the anniversary.
* You can enter as many times as you want (unless you win; then you don’t enter again because you will be in the finals).
* Do not enter if you aren’t coming to the event.
* It’s $10 each time.

This Thursday is special for a number of reasons. First, it's our monthly open mic with Ballroom friend, . Second, it's 15 years to the night since we opened in 2011. Third, our illustrious sound man and resident heartthrob, Nick Sjostrom () of , is going to be the open mic featured performer! Nick has been with us from the beginning; he taught us how to set up sound, he put in hours laying a snake under the dance floor before we opened our original location, and he has been running sound and being a friggin mensch ever since. And to top it off, he's an incredible musician.

So, join us for a casual night of food, drinks, good music, and an understated celebration of 15 years of the Mobtown Ballroom. We will have a blowout celebration November 5, 6, and 7th; details coming this week and registration will open Friday.

The open mic is FREE. So, no reason not to come. You're welcome.

LIVE MUSIC TONIGHT! Jon Tigert () and the Corner Pocket Jazz Band are coming through tonight to play amazing jazz and swing for you to dance around to.

🚪Doors are at 7, and the bar and kitchen will be open for DINNER.
🕺🏽 Beginner lesson at 8pm. No partner or experience required; just show up and you will meet people when we rotate partners!
🎷 Music starts at 9.
