The Orb of Pondering: A BROS Tabletopera is an original 45-minute concert opera where in a world inspired by tabletop fantasy role playing games, a group of ridiculous companions, and their over-controlling dungeon master, must come together to fight an ancient, tyrannical evil that threatens their city.

We have received many heartfelt and concerned messages from members of our community regarding a video circulated on social media showing our new Executive Director, who is white, wearing cornrows at a recent BROS public event. We share the weight of these concerns and take this matter seriously, and the Board has been in continuous conversation about them since Monday morning.

We regret removing the video without an explanation and take responsibility for the confusion that caused. More importantly, we are taking action.

We are revising our Anti-Discrimination Policy to more clearly address cultural representation and dress, enforcing anti-racism leadership training, and are forming a working group for Culture, Community Voice, and Racial Equity (working title). The mission of this group will focus on initiatives and systemic changes related to community culture, anti-racist practices, inclusion, accountability, equity, and access within BROS. We will announce a first meeting, open to anyone in BROS, within one week of this message (9/23).

The Baltimore Rock Opera Society is proud to welcome to the main stage its new Executive Director: Kelly "AWOL" Carnes

AWOL joins BROS with over two decades' worth of experience in arts leadership, nonprofit strategy, communications, fundraising, and creative community building.

"BROS is wonderfully weird in the best possible way. It is a place where people build monsters, bands, worlds, friendships, stories, skills, and impossible ideas." -AWOL, nailing what BROS is about.

BROS is excited for the new stories about to unfold under AWOL's leadership as she supports us in our 7,000 year mission of incredible rock theater.

The Baltimore Rock Opera Society's fall concert opera production is decided in the most epic of ways: A live Battle of the Bands where the audience votes on what band's music will be front and center sonically and thematically for our Fall 2027 show.

We need YOU, Baltimore bands, to be our epic collaborators in a cross between a rock show and theatrical performance. We're open to many music genres, what we want is passion and a collaborative spirit!

The time is nearly upon us! If you snagged a ticket to our SOLD OUT puppet karaoke FUNdraiser for September 10, you better be stretching those hands! Limbs gotta be limber for puppeteering.

We'll have a brief puppeteer workshop to kick-off the event, because a well-oiled* puppeteer is a happy puppet. Come at 7, grab your Meander Art Bar drink, and get ready for silliness for a good cause.

You and your friends have gathered again to continue your long-running tabletop fantasy RPG campaign. As soon as you all sit down, a familiar mist forms above the table.

The druid of your adventuring party, Dranoth Silvertoe, aka Carlos, rears back: "Did someone hire an online witch or something?"

Once again, the mist settles itself into a glowing orb with arcane messages inside.
