Hi everyone, a quick update about Intro to Musical Improv class(Improvise a Musical!) at Baltimore Improv Group starting this Sunday March 8 at 4pm. With only 2 people signed up so far, unless we see a rush of signups in the next day or two, we’ll postpone and reschedule for later this year.

And if you know anyone who would love it, we’d really appreciate you spreading the word to anyone who might be a good fit for five weeks of musical improv joy.

Learn how to improvise a musical with our teammates Casey and Alexa!

In just one weekend, you’ll learn all the major concepts you need to successfully perform on a musical improv team: song structure, musicality, improv content, scene-into-song, and a narrative format (Fairy Tale).

You and your classmates will put on a showcase performance for friends and family to come cheer you on, Sunday evening after class, 7-8pm.

Prerequisites: none. Recommended: either improv 101 OR some music performance experience

Alexa and Casey have been teaching musical improv together for many years with the nonprofit Baltimore Musical Improv. They make improvised musicals together in the Baltimore-based musical improv group Bad Karaoke Experience (BKE) and The Tritones. In a given show, you’ll see them both alternating between singing on stage and doing back-line instrumental accompaniment. BKE has played in DC's Improvapolooza, the New York City Musical Improv Festival, and the Baltimore Improv Festival (BIG). The Tritones have performed at Countdown Improv Festival.

Hey everyone, we're back with another round of musical mischief at BIG! We've been running musical improv shows since 2017 and we're ready for more!

Come experience a fully improvised musical where your stories inspire the plot. Think heroes, villains, and quirky townsfolk bursting into song, Broadway-style, all made up in front of your eyes.

See your ideas turned into an unforgettable tale, full of twists, heart, and ridiculous harmony. It’s fun, fast-paced, and different every time.
