This is long but please read all the way to the end!!
Today, April 9th is the birthdate of Musical Madness Karaoke & DJ. It has been 7 years since I have started my business. Time sure does fly by. I have so many people to thank.
First, the people who helped me start my business. Don't care, I will always take the high road and never forget how I got started and will be eternally thankful for them believing in me and knowing that I could make this a huge success.
Second, I want to thank all the KJs who have been an inspiration to me and who have taught me how to be a great KJ. Especially Godfather, R.I.P.!!
Third, the bars who have hired me and believed in me!! In 7 years, I have lost a few due to the bars closing and I left a few after it was not a good fit for my singers. Overall, I have had bars that have believed me and have riden the ups and downs with me, especially Middle River Inn & The Caddyshack. It is all about communication and working with your bars. If you don't care about your bars, use them for free stuff, don't support them, don't work with them or don't advertise for them, you can't expect them to support you. So, to all my bar owners over the years, thank you for believing in me, for taking the slow nights with the busy nights and for keeping me a steady job so I can help support my family!!
Lastly, and really the most important people to thank are all of my singers. I would not have had successful shows for 7 years without you. I could be the best KJ ever but if you guys don't come to my shows to sing and drink, I would have nothing. We have become a FAMILY. Some nights you may have to wait a hour or more to sing but we have one hell of a party!! We have good nights and sometimes we have bad nights but no matter what, we always make the best of it and have fun!!
This is not an easy job at all. You got to bite your tongue with the drunks, the divas, I get licked, grabbed, gropped, and kissed by lets just say, some very very interesting people lol. What makes it all worth it , is seeing how much fun you all have.
I try to do a fair and a fast show, keep my music updated or download a song for you on the spot if I don't have it and I am able too. I don't cheat you out of quality by using cheap free youtube videos, I actually put money into my songs for you. I am your bouncer and designated driver when you can not drive. I charge your cellphones, watch your purses, jackets and pool sticks. I am your supplier for your sugar fixes too..lol. I am your lost & found and have even been a loan officer for a few lol. :-)
You are not just my singers, you are my friends, you have become FAMILY!!
So many of you have been with me since the very first show at Malibu Beach Bar. I was there for over a year before it was sold. I truly appreciate that more than you will ever know!!
It has been a rollercoaster at times over the years but WE made it to number 7!!
So I will end this with another heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped me reach the 7 year mark and lets continue to party for many more years to come!!!
