As part of MICA’s 200th Anniversary, MAP will proudly be presenting new works created by MICA alumni who had previously exhibited in Youngblood. Each year following graduation, Maryland Art Place’s (MAP’s) Executive Leadership and Program Advisory Committee (PAC) curates Young Blood, an annual exhibition of works by recent Baltimore-area Masters of Fine Art graduates.

Since 2008, Young Blood has showcased recent MFA graduates from Baltimore-area institutions, bringing together artists from diverse programs to exhibit work from their thesis projects. The exhibition serves as an important platform for emerging artists, providing visibility, critical engagement, and professional recognition. Over the past 18 years, Young Blood has featured 124 artists from institutions including MICA, UMBC, Towson University, the University of Maryland, and Goucher College. Join us on Thursday, July 9, to celebrate a selection of MICA alumni whose work has been part of this longstanding program.

Young Blood Revisited will be on view Thursday, July 9th - Saturday, August 22 with an opening reception Thursday, July 9th. Exhibiting artists will be announced.

There's still one day to come see TWO DAYS at MARYLAND ART PLACE!

Two days -On View between May 14 - June 20- is an exhibition conceived around two cities, Baltimore and New York. In 1901, the Baltimore Orioles were sold to New York and became the New York Highlanders. In 1913 they were renamed the Yankees. The two cities are linked together through America’s favorite pastime. Two Days celebrates the East Coast and the ever-evolving relationship between Baltimore and New York.

We hope you'll be able to catch this unique and fantastic show!

TWO DAYS is at MARYLAND ART PLACE between May 14- June 20! Have you been yet?

The artists were selected on the uniqueness of their work and their respect for materiality and visual language. All share an interest in poetics driven by physical adventure and structural understanding. There may be similarities in some of the works but the show was not conceived with a particular aesthetic or common idea. The intention is to introduce artists with individual vision currently working in two nearby cities. Rather than being on two separate teams (Orioles and Yankees), the artists are on one team, bound by purpose and place.

We couldn't be more happy for the Lineup Room Recording Studios. Lineup has been at MAP for over a decade supporting musicians in and around Baltimore! Glad you're with us now and in the future!

Baltimore's Lineup Room nearly closed, but community support and Maryland Art Place kept the music space open.
