Some artists take years to find their lane. GUILLERMO has spent the last three years building his the hard way.
Guillermo Garcia started where a lot of DJs do. College house parties, local bars, and pretty much anywhere that would let him touch the decks. Packed room or five people, it didn’t really matter. Every set was another rep.
Those reps added up.
Since then, GUILLERMO has gone from small college gigs to playing across the country and internationally in Mexico, all while building a growing presence in the DMV dance scene. Now, that progression brings him to one of his biggest hometown moments yet, opening for BUNT. in Baltimore.
His sound sits somewhere between tech house, minimal and deep tech, groovy house, and UK house. It’s rhythmic, confident, and built around keeping the floor moving. Artists like Ranger Trucco, Dale Howard, Franky Rizardo, and Chinonegro have all helped shape the direction he’s chasing, but the bigger goal is continuing to sharpen a sound that feels like his own.
A lot of that identity comes from his Colombian roots. Guillermo spent many summers growing up in Colombia, building a real connection to the culture, language, music, and traditions there. He’s fluent in Spanish, proud of where he comes from, and carries that perspective into the way he sees dance music. Different backgrounds, one room, everybody moving together.
Three years ago he was saying yes to any booth he could get into. This Friday, he’s stepping onto the lineup for BUNT.
