Dear Community,
901 Arts has had an incredible 20 years. We are so proud of what our youth, teachers and staff have accomplished. After 20 years, co-founders and board members, Debra Evans & Eleanor Montgomery, and director (of 18 years), Sarah Tooley, are ready to plan their transitions from 901. We commit to keeping 901 open through the end of the 2026-2027 school year. What happens next is yet to be written. We want the process of either ending 901, bringing on new leadership or inviting in a new program to 901 Montpelier Street to include you, our community. We are hosting two sessions to kick things off.
Session 1: What?!? 901 Arts Is/Might Be Ending?? Q’n’A
Hear more information from Sarah, Debra & Eleanor, ask questions, share your feelings.
Tues Aug 4th, 5:30-7PM @ 901 Arts
Session 2: Meet, Greet ’n’ Dream Together
Neighbors, artists, musicians, youth development workers, other non-profit leaders, community groups come to connect, scheme, plot and envision what might come next.
Mon Oct 5th, 5:30-7:30PM @ Waverly Enoch Pratt Library
RSVP (helpful but not required) at http://901Arts.org/changes A reminder will be sent prior the event for those who RSVP. Sessions will be co-facilitated by Monique Meadows (Banyan Coaching and Consulting) and Miriam Avins (Avins Consulting), both long time neighborhood residents and friends of 901 Arts.
Thank you for the past 20 years of making magic. Updates will be post to: http://901Arts.org/changes
With love and admiration,
Debra Evans, Eleanor Montgomery and Sarah Tooley
