Maryland Institute Black Archives - MIBA

Maryland Institute Black Archives - MIBA The Maryland Institute Black Archives (MIBA) is a community archive independent of the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).

Our mission is to preserve Black history at MICA and empower our community. MIBA is powered by Blackives, LLC. The mission of Blackives, LLC is to cultivate Black history that has long been excluded from the historical narrative of art and design institutions. Blackives, LLC uses post-custodial principals to support community creators and collectors in maintaining control of their archival records while providing management support and public access. Blackives, LLC strives to meet the research and instructional needs of our community, scholars, and the general public.
