Our regularly scheduled, Baltimore Silent Book Club starts at 6:30 p.m.! Come meet other book lovers and bring any reading material you want with you—we do not censor your choice of literature here. We have giveaways—bookmarks and pins—for attendees ☺️

After 7 p.m. is the return of the Tomorrow Will Be Worse Reading Series (Tomorrow Will Be Worse Reading Series), featuring local creative writers! Do not miss this event if you enjoy science fiction, horror, speculative fiction, and other stuff that would likely make it onto a “banned” list😅

The Droconomist Comedy Game Night returns to Old Major this Friday, September 25! Hosted by Cameron Smith, The Droconomist is a live comedy competition that involves hot takes, current events, audience voting, and wild opinions.

A lineup of featured comedians will compete to deliver the funniest, boldest, and most entertaining responses of the night. One of the featured contestants will win a cash prize.

The show is interactive! Audience members will help judge the competition and weigh in throughout the night, so bring your own opinions and be ready to get involved.

OM’s doors open at 6 p.m. Arrive early to order food or drinks and settle in before the show starts after 7 p.m. Stick around for karaoke after the show!

The Baltimore Chapter of the Federal Unionists Network (F.U.N.) is holding their solidarity “heat check” happy hour at 7 p.m. If you are a current or former federal employee, contractor or ally, the group meets at OM every 1st and 3rd Friday!

Most of us have been looking forward to the Labor Day holiday weekend since the last holiday weekend 😅 We’re happy to kick it off with you at 6 p.m.! Join us for food, drinks, karaoke, games and more!

We’re even happier to hold the POC happy hour of the Baltimore Dem. Socialists tonight at 7 p.m.! Among many things, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) fights for thriving working class communities. Come by for great conversation and to learn how you can get involved!

August 31 is the international observance of Overdose Awareness Day. From 2023-2025, the number of overdose deaths in Baltimore City decreased more than 40 percent. That is a significant and very encouraging reduction. However, we recognize that the continued overdose crisis in the City requires a sustained, multi-pronged and collaborative response.

Today, we want to recognize two of Baltimore’s leading organizations that are on the front lines of harm reduction work: Pigtown’s SPARC Center, and East Baltimore’s Charm City Care Connection.

Last Friday, OM had the great privilege of hosting a happy hour for SPARC and CCCC after both organizations performed fieldwork in Southwest Baltimore. We not only appreciate their support of OM, but we are profoundly thankful for their service to our community. Their commitment, dedication and advocacy are saving lives throughout the city and giving hope to individuals struggling with addiction.

We encourage you to read more about each organization (links in our bio) to learn how you can volunteer or support their respective missions.

To all of the other individuals and organizations also engaged and working in the fight to prevent overdose-related deaths in the City, we commend and salute you.

And to those in recovery, we applaud your courage and wish you continued healing ♥️

Well, at least our evening is getting better…The Tomorrow Will Be Worse reading series (Tomorrow Will Be Worse Reading Series), led by Dave K and Justin Sanders, returns to OM this evening from their summer break 🙌 with a new crew of quirky, creative and talented local readers! They will be accompanied by musicians Dominic and Erica Patoka Cerquetti 🎶

If you are a fan of science fiction, horror, speculative fiction and genre literature you won’t want to miss this weird yet lovely reading event! 🧟‍♀️⚡️
