Walking along the canal in Frederick, we suddenly heard the gentle voice of a harp…
The incredible James Dronenburg was performing, and the music flowed as softly as the water in Carroll Creek Park.
A simple walk turned into a movie scene —
the air felt lighter,
our steps slowed down,
and a quiet joy filled the heart.
🎵 If you’re nearby — stop.
🎵 Slow down.
🎵 Listen.
Let the city breathe music around you!

This triptych consists of three individual panels unified by the theme of a blooming garden. Every petal, leaf, stamen, and pistil are hand-sculpted using sheep’s wool, capturing the vibrant essence of living nature. Delicate fauna—fluttering butterflies and busy bees—are scattered throughout, adding a dynamic sense of life and movement. The green background, textured with 3D dots, evokes dense grass, completing this immersive natural tableau.

Modular Design: The composition consists of multiple sculptural units that can be arranged in various configurations to adapt to different wall sizes and spatial features. Each unit attaches directly to the wall or different background with hidden magnetic mounts for easy and flexible installation.

Customization: Available for commission in a new design—each project can be tailored in size, color palette, and composition to harmonize with the character of a specific space.

Born in the North Caucasus region of Russia and based in Maryland, Alla and Milana Borovskaia are a mother-daughter artist duo who have dedicated their professional lives to transforming wool fibers into expressive sculptural works.
Alla, the lead artist of the team, has over 30 years of experience as a practicing artist. Her passion for art began in early childhood, inspired by her grandmother and great-grandmother, and blossomed into a lifelong artistic path.
Milana, who grew up in her mother’s studio, absorbed the techniques and philosophy of the practice from a young age. For over ten years, she has played an integral role in the team.
Together, Alla and Milana have built a multi-generational practice that combines traditional felting techniques with contemporary approaches. Their collaborative works include vibrant wall sculptures and modular compositions, known for their signature style, and are found in both public and private collections. One notable project was a large-scale installation across two floors of the Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center in Columbia, Maryland, which received numerous heartfelt responses.
They have partnered with cultural organizations across Maryland, actively engaging with the public through exhibitions, open studios, workshops, and community outreach— including the Sandy Spring Museum, the Chesapeake Arts Center, the Delaplaine Arts Center, the Montpelier Arts Center, and others.
Both artists have received multiple awards from the Maryland State Arts Council, including the Folklife Apprenticeship Award. Work created through this program has been archived in the University of Maryland’s Special Collections.

Why wool? Wool carries living, genuine energy and is among the oldest known materials used in textile art. It hasn’t passed through the moment of death, as the animals are not harmed in the process. The wool we use is ethically and humanely sourced.
