En Raíces y Alas (In Roots and Wings) is an exhibition by self-taught artist Jessy DeSantis, showcasing a dynamic body of work that explores themes of community, heritage, and the profound impact of place through the lens of displacement.

Do you remember these? They are headed to a college for a solo show opening this month. Gonna use them to teach about food insecurity along with my other topics of ancestral foods/medicine. I painted these community fridges starting back in 2020 with the most recent one painted this year now the fridge is back in action. They live at .lightjunction next to . 5 years later and the is still up and running 🫂

Being a Mom is the best thing that happened to me ever. I love my babies, they are what I live for and they are the coolest human beings that I have the pleasure of raising. 🖤 Happy mother's day to all the moms, caregivers, those who play a motherly role with mucho serving, and I'm holding a special place for those who are grieving not having a mother or a mother that has passed on. All the Mothers in Sudan, Congo, Palestine and all over the world. Mother Earth and ancestor mommies too. We Moms are a fu***ng force. ✨✨✨

I have a pretty big announcement. My painting Cintli, Corn, Maiz will be on permanent display at the Walters Art Museum's new exhibition Latin American Art, Arte Latinoamericano. I will be there on the grand opening day with fellow contemporary artists and contributors. I hope to see you there as well! It would mean a lot.
