Young Musicians of Baltimore (YMOB) is a youth chamber orchestra comprised of string players ages 12-20 dedicated to promoting artistic vitality in the Baltimore metropolitan region through adventuresome programming, building musical community, and equity and inclusion in the arts. Under the artistic leadership of music director Doug Jameson and co-director Melissa Hullman, musicians explore chamb
er orchestra repertoire ranging from the 17th century to the present day. With regular faculty coaching and individualized feedback, musicians have the opportunity to hone their technique and interpretive skills. YMOB promotes understanding through programming that reflects the diverse musical traditions, talents, and voices at the forefront of the music world today. YMOB believes that musical talent transcends the bounds of socio-economic status and is committed to making music available to all, regardless of cultural, geographic or financial considerations. YMOB fosters inclusion in the arts by ensuring that all qualified musicians have access to high-quality musical training, advancement, and performance opportunities regardless of socio-economic circumstances.
