Golden Fleece Spinners' Society

Golden Fleece Spinners' Society Golden Fleece Spinners’ Society is a hand spinning guild that meets in Baldwinsville, NY. The organization was known as “No Name Guild” until October of 1980.

A Brief History: The first meeting of the guild was held on March 15, 1980 in Baldwinsville, New York. At that time “The Golden Fleece Spinners’ Society” was adopted. We host the annual CNY Fiber Frolic at Beaver Lake Nature Center. Our guild members also demonstrate hand spinning at several fairs and festivals in New York including the CNY Fiber Festival in Bouckville, the Finger Lakes Fiber Festival in Hemlock, the Golden Harvest Festival in Baldwinsville and the NYS Fair.

Our next meeting is this Saturday, September 19th from 10-2 at the Grace Episcopal Church in Baldwinsville. We will welcome any new members, enjoy a pot-luck lunch and buy things from our friends for Market Day.

Bring a dish to pass along with your table setting for lunch. Don't forget any items to sell for Market Day along with Show & Tell lovelies. After the business meeting we'll have an open spin so bring your latest spinning or fiber arts project and enjoy some crafting time with friends.

Hey friends! The weather is looking great for our next meeting this Saturday August 15th starting at 10:00 AM. Come join us at the Wegman’s Good Dog Park Area of Onondaga Lake Park (49 Cold Springs Trail, Liverpool) for some informal spinning in the shade.

In light of the possibility of unpleasant weather and the smoke conditions, we will meet at the church this Saturday.

Anyone wishing to bring snacks to share, please feel free as we do not have treats assignments in the summer.

Hope to see you all on Saturday at Grace Episcopal Church in Baldwinsville from 10-2!

Reminder: Our July & August meetings are informal open spins with no business meeting. It's a great time to enjoy some crafting time with friends and see what everyone is working on.
