Self-preservation is often misunderstood. Most people think it’s about survival, but at a deeper level it’s about protecting the version of yourself you refuse to lose.
There comes a point in life when a person realizes something powerful. Not every battle is meant to be fought, not every room deserves your presence, and not every relationship is meant to hold your energy. Self-preservation is the wisdom that arrives after enough experience teaches you that your peace is not expendable.
Sometimes self-preservation looks like strength, standing your ground, speaking your truth, defending your values.
Other times it looks like quiet power, walking away, saying less, observing more, refusing to let chaos pull you out of your center. ♈️
