We waited for hours yesterday for the Union Pacific mainline to reopen after the ice storm wreaked havoc this week. ❄️ There were trees down everywhere and it shut down train traffic. Yesterday, I started off in the morning driving around trying to see if any lights were on, but didn’t see any. I headed north toward Fordyce and finally saw a flashing yellow light in Thornton. I drove a little further north and there was a crew bus sitting on the highway (79 N) with flashers on and a UP-led manifest sitting on the tracks facing south. I circled for over an hour waiting to see if it would move, then decided to go back to Thornton to see what color the light was; it was green. About 5 minutes later I caught this Union Pacific led intermodal! The tracks were open and we were excited to see movement again! I never did see the UP manifest come through.
