WE’RE BACK.
The 3rd Annual Philly Youth Music Fest is officially happening on July 19th from 2PM–8PM at Spruce Street Harbor Park!

We could not be more grateful for every venue, partner, family and amazing young artist and leader who has helped build this to be a city wide celebration that our youth deserve!

Our city is full of such incredible young people and we are grateful that on July 19th our whole community can come together to celebrate not just their artistry but their leadership and what they mean in our city!

This year, over 30 community-based organizations and youth music organizations from across Philadelphia will come together for a full day of performances, workshops, art, community resources, and celebration.

Philadelphia has some of the most talented, creative, strong and inspiring young people anywhere in the world — and this day we get to celebrate them.

This Saturday the is happening at Venice Island from 12PM-6PM and tickets are free! A huge component of the festival is that a large amount of the work of the festival is done by young leaders with adult mentor orgs. We couldn't be more grateful to highlight who will be doing videography of the event (and who was a huge part of the planning process) in the ! The 5 Shorts Project is a fiscally sponsored 501(c)3 creative initiative based in Philadelphia, PA that teaches BIPOC emerging filmmakers how to make short films.

Founded in 2014 with the mission to make filmmaking accessible for underserved communities, the project features a diverse range of genres, styles, and voices. Each year, a curated selection of short films is screened at various venues in the city, creating opportunities for filmmakers to share their work with a wider audience. Through their commitment to promoting independent filmmaking, the 5 Shorts Project has become an important contributor to the cultural landscape of Philadelphia.

At the 5 Shorts Project, they are committed to supporting emerging filmmakers at every stage of the filmmaking process, from idea to production. they believe that filmmaking is a collaborative art form that requires a wide range of skills and expertise, and they strive to equip our filmmakers with the knowledge and tools they need to bring their ideas to life.

Produced over 40 short films that showcase emerging talent.
Official selections of over 100 film festivals, providing our filmmakers with exposure and recognition.
Produced 10+ award-winning short films, demonstrating our commitment to quality and excellence.
Engaged over 100 cast and crew members in our productions, providing opportunities for emerging talent to gain practical experience and build their resumes.

Philly Youth Music Fest is this Saturday at Venice Island from 12PM-6PM!!! Each day we highlighting the amazing work that is being done by community orgs and the youth in our city! Today we are highlighting and the incredible work that they do in our community!

Rock to the Future supports positive youth development and economic empowerment through free, student-driven music programs for Philadelphia youth in under-resourced areas. They provide consistent, high-quality, trauma-informed music programs for more than a thousand youth annually in-school, after school, and during the summer in schools, community locations, and the juvenile justice system.Through their programs, talented and eager children, teens, and young people build confidence, positive relationships, and community connection, which supports mental well-being, staying in school and pursuing professional pathways, and peaceful communities.

Philly Youth Music Fest is next weekend! As we prepare for the festival on July 13th at Venice Island we will be highlighting the amazing community based orgs that helped make this festival happen.
Today we want to highlight the amazing FamFrequency Productions ()! FamFrequency is a Philadelphia-based 501c3 music and entrepreneurship fellowship that empowers young artists to be financially independent. They are more than an after school program as they cultivate creative entrepreneurs through their music production, marketing, and entrepreneurship curriculum that provides high school music artists with the skills, resources and opportunities that allow them to build multiple streams of income with their music. We couldn't be more grateful for all that they do in Philadelphia and can't wait to see them perform next Saturday July 13th at Venice Island from 12PM-6PM! Get free tickets today (see bio for link)
