DANISH BUTTER BISCUITS 😋

Ingredients:

200 g all-purpose flour
100 sugar
125 g of softened butter
a pinch of salt
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation:

1. Take the butter and the egg out of the fridge half an hour before making the dough
2. We weigh and measure the rest of the ingredients
3. Mix the flour with the salt
4. Beat the butter until creamy
5. Add the sugar and continue beating for a while longer
6. Without stopping beating, add the egg yolk
7. Finally we add the flour and knead until we have a homogeneous dough
8. Store the dough in the fridge for one hour
9. We turn on the oven at 175 ºC
10. With a roller we stretch the dough 7 mm thick
11. Cut the cookies and place them on a baking tray
12. We leave them in the fridge for half an hour with the tray
13. We bake for 12 minutes
14. Remove them and let them cool on a rack

I wish to thank everyone for the support and involvement with my studio work. I have dedicated my life to producing the best work I could with pieces of clay. I spent 50 years in clay and loved working with the material.
I have delayed this announcement, so please forgive me. I miss the people that are involved with clay, and I hope that you enjoyed the work I produced and I would still love to hear from you. So enjoy that cup of coffee and I hope you say, "this is my favorite cup"

Just a quick update for everyone following Ron's (my father's) studio page here, as he's been far too busy to keep up with updating social media;

Dad has been forced to give up the house he's currently living in because of the NCDOT's plans to expand Hwy 226 at the mouth of Cub Creek.

What does this mean exactly? As far as I understand the barn shop will likely close during the house demolition. He will likely not be around very much during that time, but can still be reached on this page if you would like to contact him.

I'm not sure of dad's plans to return to clay at this point, as it has been a couple years at least since his last firing. So, if you have ever wanted to own a piece of his work or expand to your current collection, now is the time to do so! Not only would you be assisting him in this crazy transition, but you would be helping to preserve his work!

Thank you everyone for your support over the years, and we hope to resume normal operations at the barn in a couple years or so!

Come see us on this year's TRAC Studio Tour, #97 on map 3! See you out there!

Studio Tour starts tomorrow. Fingers crossed for good weather (or not so rainy), but no flooding reports from artists. We'll post if we hear anything, but right know, bring your rain coat or an umbrella and remember, inside the studios, it's cool and dry.
