To our friends and family in comedy:
When we last addressed you, we said we'd have an update on the club's situation on 4/15. We assume it's safe to say the world updated our situation for us. But to make it official, the April Fool's Show slotted for tomorrow will be postponed, not cancelled. And if you think we won't throw an April Fool's Show in October, prepare to be wrong! Haha.

Looking ahead, the future for our little comedy club is uncertain. Even if everything were to open up tomorrow, it's hard to predict when people will want to congregate in spaces as intimate as The Quip. Yet, we remain optimistic. We hope to open our doors and see your faces once this is over, and we can get back to the laughter in the house that Bakersfield comedy built. Stay safe everyone.

As an entertainment venue, our priority is the well-being of our audience. So it is with this in mind that we have decided to suspend all activities until further notice, effective immediately. Our Tuesday and Thursday open mics are cancelled, and our March Madness and Chris Cruz shows will be postponed for a later date. This suspension will continue until April 15th, when we will decide what course of action to take moving forward. We thank you always for your support.

Our Leap Year Show this past Saturday was a complete whirlwind of fun from start to finish!

So much, in fact, that we genuinely enjoyed just being in the moment, rather than fumbling to take photos all night.

With that, we would like to take the time to say THANK YOU...to all of the performing comics, comics and friends that came simply to support, and the great audience members that were present. You guys made this an amazing sold out experience!

Without you all, there is no Quip. We sincerely appreciate everyone who has shown us support in one way or another. We are looking forward to keeping this momentum going!

Comedian Bio Feature:
Rick Storer is a stand-up comedian who has been entertaining Central Coast crowds for years. He stays busy; you can find him on any night of the week in some city in the western part of the United States, bringing his unique brand of comedy to a variety of audiences.

Rick has performed at Laughs Unlimited in Sacramento, Oxnard Levity Live, and Aurora Comedy Shrine. His talent made him the winner of round 5 of the Pick Your Poison comedy competition. You can also see him on Buzzfeed and Eric Andre's upcoming film "Bad Trip."
