The temptation

Decided to try my hand at oil painting. Enrolled in Pam Phillips' oil painting class here in Bear Valley Springs. She paints like the old masters. Amazing control and completely realistic still life. When I got to this stage, she came and made some suggestions, and in my naivety, I told her that I liked it like it was and felt it was finished. It was my first painting. A little over a year ago. Now I am obsessed with oil painting. I love it.

Looking At the Face of God

I've always loved the story of the nativity. As a mother, I remember looking at my newborns and musing that they just left heaven and God's presence. I often wonder what Mary thought. Did she have similar musings? Did she look at her son and consider she was looking at the face of God? I wanted to paint something reflecting those ideas.
