RIP Joseph Requejo 🕊️❤️

2017- I met him at Jackson Tree and immediately wanted him to play music for us. We would go on to book him at almost every J Tree after that. He never minded what set he got or if we asked him to go B2B. He was always just happy to join us in the desert.

2018- I was a hot mess after Josh Garrett passed away. I wanted to play a set at Jackson but I couldn’t bring myself to play alone. So I reached out to J. Woogie, J. Heart, and Madliibs to share a set with me (pic 4). I cried that day and it was a struggle, but my friends were there for me and I’ll never forget it.

2023- I ran into Joseph on the dancefloor at Jackson Tree and he pulled out a magic conch. A REAL MAGIC CONCH. This thing actually worked. I thought it was the coolest gift anyone has ever gotten me and it has sat in our home on display ever since.

2026- The last time I got to see Jo was during his rippin Friday night set. I walked up, gave him a hug, took a few silly pics on the 📞 (s/o to Conner Lee Coughenour ) and continued to groove with everyone for awhile. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to say farewell.

I’ll forever miss you brother. Saying goodbye is the hardest thing ever, but you’ve left us with so many amazing memories and friends. Your infectious energy and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of all your Jacksons❤️✨🪩
