WOW. It’s been an entire year since we sat at Community First Title Agency, LLC -Bad Axe, with Rose from HAGLE Real Estate and Leanne from Bay Port State Bank to buy this incredible piece of Bad Axe history. Huge thanks to all of the people who made this project a reality!

After a year of ups and downs, we’re excited to keep the momentum going. We’ve had a few big wins recently that allow us to get back to this project with some fresh energy.

While we’re waiting for a few things that are outside of our control, we wanted to share what the second level and the basement looked like towards the beginning of this journey. They don’t look much different than this now, but we’ve spent a lot of time emptying them out and cleaning them up. We can’t wait to show you updates as we tackle these floors as well!

We love finding history here! This was hidden between a couple floor joists. These are some photos of the first business that was here. According to our research, Nugent & Co. was a mercantile store established in 1904. 🔎

Tearing out this storage loft upstairs was a big project. We are almost to the point where we can work with a blank canvas! 🎉 Axe throwing won’t be upstairs but we still wanted to share the progress!
