💔 LEX HAWK CLASSIC POSTPONED 💔

Well… this is not the announcement we wanted to make.

Due to the City of Aztec moving into a Stage 3 water shortage, the Lex Hawk Classic scheduled for September 5–6 must be postponed.

Kart Kanyon receives its track-preparation water through a bulk-water account, and the new restrictions prevent us from obtaining the water necessary to safely prepare and maintain the track for a two-day event.

We are currently exploring other alternatives, but that all takes time.

The Lex Hawk Classic is postponed—not canceled. We will work to reschedule it as soon as conditions allow and announce a new date once we know we can safely and responsibly hold the event.

We know how many racers, families and fans were looking forward to this weekend. We were too. This was not an easy decision, but we’re doing everything possible to preserve the remainder of our 2026 racing season.

Now we need everyone to do a little rain dance and hope Mother Nature sends some much-needed moisture to Aztec and the surrounding area. 🌧️🙏

Thank you for understanding and continuing to support Kart Kanyon Speedway. We’ll keep everyone updated as soon as we know more. 🏁

🚨 WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU… Mike Tenski has been FIRED………. up about getting back to racing! 🔥🏁

It has been 10 WEEKS—two and a half months 😳—since we last raced at Kart Kanyon Speedway! We’ve missed the noise, the dirt, the competition, and most of all, all of you.

Now we’re only ONE MORE WEEK away from race day! We can’t wait to see everyone back at the track August 21 & 22 as we get ready to finish the year strong! 💪

🎉 Happy Birthday to El Jefe, Mike Tenski! 🎉

Without Mike, so much of what you see and enjoy at Kart Kanyon Speedway simply wouldn’t be possible.

Whether he’s working behind the scenes to give everyone a great place to race, improving the facility, or lending a helping hand to a racer in need, Mike is always willing to step up and get the job done.

Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize everything he does for Kart Kanyon and the entire racing community.

🚓🚒 BATTLE OF THE BADGES 🚒🚓

What started as a wild idea has turned into one of the most entertaining parts of the season at Kart Kanyon Speedway!

Representing their agencies on the track are drivers from:
👮 Bloomfield Police Department
👮 Aztec Police Department
👮 Farmington Police Department
👮 New Mexico State Police
🚒 San Juan County Fire Department

Most of these competitors started the season as complete rookies behind the wheel of a kart. Since then, we’ve watched them learn, improve, and become surprisingly competitive racers. It’s been a blast to watch their progress!

So far, Bloomfield Police has collected the most Main Event victories, with Aztec Police close behind and Farmington Police continuing to gain ground.

The rivalry heated up during the Ryan Bard Memorial when Aztec appeared to have the race under control—until Farmington attempted what can only be described as a “pit maneuver.” Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out as planned! The excitement opened the door for Bloomfield to take the win, followed by Aztec, San Juan County Fire, and Farmington.

State Police and San Juan County Fire have missed a few events due to scheduling, but when they’re here, they’re competitive and always bring plenty of excitement to the track.

With more races still to come, the question is:

Come out and cheer on your favorite department. These races are always competitive, always entertaining, and guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

🏁 SATURDAY NIGHT RECAP | RYAN BARD MEMORIAL FINALE 🏁

The Ryan Bard Memorial wrapped up Saturday night with another incredible turnout as 75 entries packed the pits at Kart Kanyon Speedway for the second and final night of racing.

With a $1,000-to-win Adult Stock feature headlining the evening and strong fields across every division, fans were treated to an action-packed night from the first green flag to the final checkered.
