We are SO excited to welcome Mrs. Karen Eck to ICON Dance Center as our newest Instructor! 🩰⭐️
Mrs. Karen has been dancing since the age of 4 and brings 35+ years of teaching experience to our dancers. She began her training at St. Mary’s School of Dance in Detroit and later became a member of the Mid-West Ballet Theater Company.
She is a longtime member of Dance Masters of Michigan and Dance Masters of America, has served on the Dance Masters of Michigan Board of Directors, and served as Secretary for 20 years. She has passed the traditional core exams in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz, completed postgraduate teacher training through Dance Masters of America at SUNY Buffalo, and passed her Cecchetti Teacher Exams through Grade V Elementary.
Mrs. Karen specializes in teaching children and brings so much more than steps into the classroom—incorporating proper terminology, dance history, kinesiology, and strong technical training into her teaching. Some of her former students have even gone on to perform in Broadway productions including “Billy Elliot”, “Kinky Boots”, and “Frozen”! 🤩
After moving to our area from Michigan this year, we are incredibly excited that her next chapter includes ICON Dance Center. We cannot wait for our dancers to learn from the knowledge and experience she brings into the studio. 💜
