Finally officially finished my Tetris Cabaret and got it outside for pictures. What started out life as a Midway Space Zap converted to Arkanoid (back in ‘87!) is now my dedicated Tetris cabaret.

Finally brought the dartboard back to Galaxy Blue after 9 long years. After putting it in place, the next order of business was to try to install the NOS 10” amber monitor I’ve had sitting on the shelf for seven years. The monitor was manufactured November 29, 1984. My Arachnid Galaxy Top Gun Challenge dartboard is from 1993, so there were a few wiring compatibility issues. Basically I had to adapt the NOS monitor’s video to an RCA Jack and its power connector to a 13V wall wart connector. The monitor I had in the machine was obviously not original and was more like the amber version of an old-school black-and-white television set. It barely fit in the cavity and it never quite sat in the machine correctly. It also had two large of a screen for the dartboard opening, so the text was always cut off at either the top or the bottom, which made playing cricket very difficult. I ordered some RCA pigtails and a 13V/2A wall wart off of Amazon, and cut an AC/DC connector off an old set of LED lights. I soldered the new connectors onto their respective wires and plugged everything in. Amazingly, it worked on the first try.

My youngest son still sits on top of our Pole Position cockpit 11 years later! Here’s a pic from 2014 when he was 2 and another one from yesterday (he’s the little guy on the right). He turns 14 in a week!
