THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!
The 1st Annual Lake Erie Showdown at Spevock's Nautical Lanes in partnership with Aqua Bowling Accessories is nearly two months away & we have yet another exciting announcement. We put the power in the hands of the bowling community & with nearly 60 votes in total, the KEGEL High Street V1 11:1 RECREATIONAL (not sport) pattern has been selected by all of you to be that pattern we will be throwing on in the event. Thank you to everyone who voted and we can't wait to see you all in the house!
This is a Doubles Tournament that will be hosted at Spevock's Nautical Lanes. The Entry Fee is $80 per bowler or $160 total. Handicap will be 80% of 220. There will be 3 games of regular doubles games to decide the 32 teams what will enter bracket play.
Though this is a handicap tournament we wanted to also create appeal for our scratch community as well and here is how we plan to do so: After qualifying (during the re-oil process) we will host 1 set games that will feature the top 6 scratch teams from qualifying they will bowl in 1 regular doubles game to settle their final standing in the initial scratch “pre payouts” listed below. The final scratch standings will be based on qualifying (scratch) + 1 game of match play (scratch). That means that there is $1550 in total going to the scratch portion & EVERYONE has a chance to qualify for both this scratch portion and the handicap portion. There is no additional buy in required!
After the re-oil we will begin match play. All match play games will switch from the regular doubles format that was used in qualifying to the best of 2 total pinfall plus handicap (80% of 220) for each match all the way up to the championship where there will be 3 bakers games played.
Check in will be at 11am and start time is noon. There will be brackets available that will be run by some of the fine folks at Nautical and the Greater Lorain USBC.
