Happy 150th birthday Colorado! You continue to inspire me every day.

I’ve only been here for the last quarter of the century but you opened your arms and said “your Polish degree in architecture is welcome here. You can get licensed and do your best”. And then I build my house and raised two children here and you said “missing middle duplex? Why not”. And then I asked “ how about walkability?” And you said, “let’s talk about it”. And then Denver appointed me to the Planning Board and said “come advise us on land use policies”. And I ask you, where else an Eastern European immigrant can contribute like this?

Colorado has been home for me an my family since 2001 and I couldn’t have picked a better place to live!
