✨ Thank You for Supporting Rooted in the Ozarks ✨
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended, spoke, donated, purchased raffle tickets, and supported our Rooted in the Ozarks Art Exhibit.

As a small community arts organization, evenings like this mean so much to us. Your support not only made this event a success, but it also helps us continue offering the programs and opportunities that bring people together through creativity, connection, and shared experiences. The funds raised will help support our special programs and allow us to continue hosting exhibits, workshops, gatherings, and community events like this in the future.

Beyond the financial support, we are incredibly grateful for the encouragement, conversations, and sense of community that filled the gallery throughout the evening. There is something special about gathering together to celebrate art, stories, stewardship, and the people who help make our corner of the Ozarks such a meaningful place to call home.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in what we do and for helping us keep these creative spaces alive. We felt your love and support, and we are so grateful to be part of such a caring and generous community. ❤️

It's nearly time!

Join us tomorrow evening for a celebration of art and the land that inspires us. You will enjoy beautiful art work by several local artists, highlighting the work of Mara Bosch.

There is also a chance to win a pottery package from Living Lands Studio or one of Mara's original works. The proceeds of the raffle will go to the nonprofit Art Collective to support our community programs and promotion of the arts in rural Missouri.

Living Lands is honored to host the work of Susan Minyard of Sweetwater Pottery. Susan is a master potter and her work is known across the nation due to her long career attending art festivals in and out of the Ozarks and making a living doing what she loves...playing in the mud!

Susan is a very special part of Living Lands. She and Mara Bosch are the heart of founding our Collective organization. When Living Lands Studio was first established, it was seen as a pottery studio where Jessi could pass on the pottery knowledge gifted to her by Susan. However, we soon realized that we had no choice but to grow in order to have space to show off Susan and Mara's work and their craft.

Susan has a background in teaching and has brought this skill to the collective through teaching workshops on knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and of course pottery! She never hesitates to take opportunities to teach someone a new art skill, young old and all in between!

We are so grateful for everything Susan has contributed to the Collective and to each of our lives individually. She is one of our greatest supporters and we will always cherish everything she has taught us and the skills we now can help pass on to future generations.

You can see Susan's pottery at the art exhibit on Saturday! Doors open at 5pm @ 106 E. Washington on the Ava square.

Please help us welcome The Easily Distracted Gardener Melissa Clunn, and her Bryant Creek Collection to the collective! You may have seen her tye dye work in the shop, we are pleased to announce that we will now also be hosting some of her creek rock creations!

You will be able to see her collection at our Rooted in the Ozarks Art Exhibit this Saturday!

"Take a look at my stuff. It’s just like me…weird, imperfect and created by dreams of living with nature. This collection is made from stones collected from the Bryant Creek, Missouri creek valley. Each piece represents weeks of work that truly are a labor of love. Just promise me if it inspires you in any way, make something of your own. Don’t be afraid, go for it."

Some people create art because they enjoy making beautiful things... Some create because they know that honoring beauty is one of the first steps toward protecting it.

For Mara Bosh, art has been a lifelong relationship with the Ozarks, with its hills, forests, textures, stories, and light. Through painting, clay, weaving, sculpture, jewelry, and traditional craft, her work reflects a deep devotion to place and to the quiet beauty woven into everyday life here.

As we prepare for Rooted in the Ozarks: Art • Land • Legacy on May 23rd, we wanted to share a glimpse into Mara’s heart and the inspiration behind her work.

This evening is more than an art exhibit. It is a gathering honoring the artists and land stewards who have dedicated their lives to preserving the beauty, culture, and soul of the Ozarks for future generations.

We hope you’ll join us. 💜
