October at The Cathedral is a full circle moment 🎉 We’re celebrating the back half of Hispanic Heritage Month AND our 7th anniversary — seven years of art, community, and watching this space become what it was always meant to be. An immersive concert where live chamber music meets the paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe — storytelling, projections, and sound coming together for one night only. Presented with One World, One Music .

🕯️ Sacra Et Profana 🕯️

Inversion Ensemble joins us for a one-of-a-kind concert heralding the arrival of the Thinning Veil — two Texas premieres in one night. “MISA,” a Latin Mass for a ca****la choir, last performed in the U.S. in the early 1980s, followed by “Unfashioned Creature,” a choral ballet inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, scored for choir, cello, and percussion.

Tickets include cocktail hour, open bar, and a meet-and-greet with the artists after the show. A portion of proceeds benefits Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians).

Curator’s Insight: Behind the Walls of Sin Fronteras 🎨👁️

Curating this exhibit meant thinking beyond just “who”; it meant thinking about how 11 distinct voices could come together into one experience.
Here’s a peek into the approach...

✨ A Full Storyline: Some pieces were never meant to stand alone. They unfold as a series, each work building on the last, inviting you to read the room like a story.

✨ A Bold Statement: Other pieces don’t need company. One look, and they command the entire wall, and your attention, on their own.

✨ A Color Story: Some walls were built around a palette first. The story followed the color, not the other way around.

✨ A Study in Contrast: Abstract beside figurative. 2D beside 3D. Some of the most powerful moments in this show happen where opposites meet.

✨ A Piece of Memory: And some works aren’t just art on a wall; they’re a portal. A piece that pulls you straight into a story, a culture, a memory that isn’t easily put into words.
