Setup for the is just about complete. We’ll be ready for the sold out crowd expected for this evening’s grand opening gala.

The theme for this year’s show is “Home”. I wanted to create a space that was both welcoming and intimate. Somewhere you can relax with a book, or engage in lively conversation over a pot of tea.

A set of Chinese hongmu furniture inset with marble dreamstone panels anchors the space. The powerful pair of large calligraphy define the boundaries. The collection of Buddhist art and ritual objects bring soul and invite contemplation.

Had a lovely visit in the gallery yesterday with Lauren Hua, aka

She and her husband Phil were kind enough to bring by two of her larger worls featuring golden and silver koi swimming amongst swirling currents.

I love the texture and motion in these paintings. The paintings form a diptych, with the swirls of water continuing from one panting to the next. What's even cooler is that the diptych can be displayed either vertically or horizontally with the same effect!
