What if success wasn't measured by how much rent a space could collect—but by how many artists it could support?

At full market rates, ESPA could bring in over $44,000 each month. But that's not why we exist.

We choose to operate as a community resource, keeping rehearsal studios and performance spaces affordable for Austin's independent artists. From dance companies and theater groups to musicians and multidisciplinary artists, our goal is to make sure cost isn't the reason great work never gets made.

Our Rehearsal Space Subsidy Program (RSSP) is what makes that possible. Instead of maximizing profit, it allows us to maximize opportunity.

We're in the midst of our $8,000 campaign, and every donation helps keep artists in the studio and on the stage.

At East Side Performing Arts (ESPA), Austin artists deserve affordable places to rehearse, create, and perform. That's why we're launching our two-week campaign to support the Rehearsal Space Subsidy Program (RSSP).

While the name has stayed the same, the program has grown. Today, RSSP helps subsidize both rehearsal space and full-scale performance rentals, making it possible for local artists to focus more on their work instead of the cost of their work.
