Join us for a film screening and talk with Maka Chkhaidze, guest curator and cultural manager from the Republic of Georgia, on inclusive performing arts practices that bring together artists with and without disabilities.

We’ll screen the short documentary In C – Tbilisi, which captures the making of a performance produced by InForm, based on the choreography of Sasha Waltz and music by Terry Riley. Directed by Mariam Chachia, the film follows a diverse group of performers as they explore rhythm, movement, and connection, each expressing dancein their own unique way.

After the screening, Maka will share insights from InForm’s work in developing inclusive performance practices that rethink participation, authorship, and the body in contemporary performing arts. The discussion will explore how artistic collaboration can challenge social barriers and expand creative possibilities.

Maka Chkhaidze is a curator and cultural manager based in Tbilisi, Georgia. With a background in theatre and social psychology, she uses the performing arts to foster connections among marginalized and underrepresented groups. In 2022, she founded InForm – Platform for Inclusive Minds, a non-profit promoting disability narratives in Georgia’s performing arts. Under her leadership, InForm has established an inclusive dance theatre group and educational programs supporting an open, accessible arts community.

Maka is currently a CEC ArtsLink Fellow at Art Spark Texas. Artslink International Fellowships is a CEC ArtsLink program supporting transnational arts and social practice.
