We've seen a lot of worlds end in our time playing together, a lot of stages we called home or were welcomed to by those who did dim their lights forever. But the loss of the Hideout Theatre stings, burns, and especially fu***ng sucks as it's the theatre we've played at/in/on/through the most. All comes to ash and ruin in the end as we trip the light entropic toward the heat death of the universe...but there are still and always places where people gather to share stories and songs, poetry and madness, comedy and tragedy. The Hideout was such a haven, and will remain so wherever they set up their campfire next, while the rich asshole's bar taking its place on Congress Avenue will likely tip over into the widening gyre much earlier than the rest of us. And we'll sing a special profane siege when it does, but for now we sing only praise and love for a place that opens its doors to weirdos like us, and invites others to come and see...

...aaaand we're back! Did you miss us? Well, take better aim next time, and time after time after that because WE'RE BACK! Before the world ends again, though, we had to celebrate the Hideout Theatre with our dear friend LiLi in the booth! We ruined the show before it began, learned generational secrets of pickpocketing, explored alternate dimensions of pen*ses and vaginas of all shapes, sizes, and gender identities, and tried to murder each other as trees before the forest burned down! Did I mention we're back? πŸ’œ

(Bonus pic: Baby Doll learned how to use the timer on our camera, then proceeded to abuse that power freely! 😈)

14 years ago tonight, Indigo Shift took our first stage and ended our first world (alas, the world came back, but that stage is long gone). And through our darkly joyful dystopian creation, and as the world outside sought to outpace us with its own less sexy apocalypses, my weird sisters remain my truest friends. Kacey, Sarah Marie, Cindy...Anita, Baby Doll, Kitty...I hope you know just how much this broken Reverend loves and appreciates and is so damn proud of all of you! Until the stage and world are ours again, keep your heads and hearts and shelves high! HAP BORFDAY, SHIFTIES! 😈

Do you miss us? Or at least half of us? Want to hear what Baby Doll and Anita have to say about vampires and movies and vampire movies? Then go download/listen/like/subscribe to Little Renegade Films' new podcast Blood Suckers wherever you download/listen/like/subscribe to such things and it'll probably be a little bit like that! πŸ§›

(Part 4 of 4)
..and in the end the love you make is equal to the eyeroll you earn from Kitty Draco! She is our secret ingredient. The hit of spice or sweetness that makes the dish truly memorable. Always lurking in the back, along the sides, just out of view, like a four leaf clover or the unseen colors of the electromagnetic rainbow. She has an incredible talent for music that carries over to a variety of instruments, but is always seeking out something new and strange and awesome. She may come across timid, but there's a mercurial mental maelstrom of mischief at play, shifting shapes to fit the form and never content to be or do just one thing. Our familiar, our muse, our pet, our favorite cuddle toy, our tether between the real and ethereal, and usually the one who remembers what we all forgot or didn't realize we needed. I'm beyond blessed to have her to bounce ideas off of because she always makes them better and makes sure I don't become adrift in the abstract and conceptual and actually execute the practical tangible reality of a thing. Also, she lets us all get away with doing any number of unspeakable acts, both onstage and off, and what better sign of friendship is there than that?

(Part 3 of 4)

Next up, the many faces of the manifold myriad multiplicity of mirth and mayhem that is our own sweet Baby Doll! There's an old quote from some old Billy goat about madness and method, and with Baby there's little distinguishing between the two. We found her in the early days of building our little troube of troupadours and knew she'd bring a special kind of chaos into our lives, the kind that certain giant-moustachioed Germans attest is a necessary ingredient to give birth to a dancing star. But stars are difficult to hold, terpsichorean or otherwise, and she slipped from our grasp for a time, until our auspicious fortune brought her back in our orbit and we were once more graced with her gifts, which run so much deeper than her stab wounds! Her singing voice may fool you at first into thinking you've witnessed an angel, when in fact it is a strange fey creature come to steal your children and spoil your milk! Her impish trickery may think you have found a devil, but she is in fact a djinn who's come to grant you your heart's desire. Or perhaps it's all the other way around and I've been viewing her through a looking glass all this time. Beware the Baby Doll, my son, the knife that stabs, the teeth that graze! For the face is the mask and the mask is the face and if you ever caught a glimpse of the truth beneath, you'd either burn from the brilliance or drown in the vastness of her heart.

(Part 2 of 4)

Let's begin where it all began for me, with a singular photo of a singular lady, my wonderfully weird sister/stage wife/curse to bear, the deliriously vulgar Anita Deva. There would simply be no show without her. She was named for a provocative cabaret performer from the Weimar Republic and a transcendent heavenly being worshipped in several belief systems. And to share a stage with her, to hear her sing, watch her move, be moved to ecstasy, agony, nausea, or euphoria by her words and acts, you will fully understand just how aptly named she is in both regards. She has a wit that can cut like a knife, crack like a whip, or kick like a fist (I know what I said, that's why I said it!). At the same time, you will rarely find someone who is secretly so loving, so supportive, so goddamned inspiring in your life. And if you do, stop reading this and go make a troupe with them. You won't regret it!

Greetings, all! Your old pal Reverend Solomon Strange here! It's my birthday tomorrow, so as a gift to myself I'm sharing the final solo shots from our 10th anniversary photo shoot with some thoughts on my illustrious collaborateurs! So let's get this ghoulish buffoon out of the way first and move on to the incredible talents propping him up, shall we?

Some outtakes from our 10th anniversary family photo shoot (Part 2):

1. Anita can't take a solo shot without the peanut gallery chiming in.

2. Class clowns for life.

3. Who do YOU think is being the most inappropriate in this shot?
