SoCo Women’s Chorus is an auditioned community treble chorus based in Austin, Texas. Our mission is to provide Central Texas singers with the experience of musical artistry and excellence through choral singing and group performance. Our chorus is dedicated to reflecting Austin’s diversity and providing community service through music. We welcome singers of all gender identities with voices in the treble range (soprano and alto).

A huge thank you to KMFA Classical 89.5 for their endless support and for welcoming us into their space to record. We’re so lucky to have a community that helps make moments like this possible.

And, of course, another fearless lead from our director, Lisa Holt. She has a way of making us feel like we can do just about anything and then helping us make it happen. ❤️‍🔥

A peek behind the curtain at our time with The Chainsmokers and ACL Festival. ❤️‍🔥

Behind those few minutes of music were hours of preparation, rehearsals, coordination, and a whole lot of people working together to make it happen.
Another heartfelt thank you to Anna Grimes and Blake Musfedlt for all the work behind the scenes. To every singer who showed up and put in the work, to Matt McGuire for helping bring it all together, and to The Chainsmokers for welcoming us onto their stage.

From bringing our singers together to finding our place in a production of this scale, this collaboration pushed us in new ways and reminded us what a team can accomplish when everyone brings their part to the table.

What an unforgettable TWO weekends at ACL 2026!

A huge thank you to The Chainsmokers and Matt McGuire for inviting us into this collaboration, and to ACL Festival for having us on one of our hometown’s biggest stages!

We love making music in Austin. Getting to represent our city this way, alongside some wonderful musicians and friends, was pretty special. Thank you for giving us the chance to represent our city in such a joyful way!

Our ACL Festival collaboration with The Chainsmokers took a lot of incredible people working behind the scenes, and we want to spotlight two of them today.

A huge thank you to Blake Musfeldt and Anna Grimes for the care, time, and talent they brought to this project. Blake selected and prepared our tenor/bass ensemble members and assisted in running joint rehearsals, while Anna served as our Event Production Manager, keeping the many moving pieces of the project coordinated flawlessly behind the scenes.

About Anna:
anna reynal is a creative entrepreneur based in Austin, TX who is excited by the exploration of voice, community, and artistic expression through choral performance. As a multi-disciplinary artist, she is pursuing a body of work that celebrates feminine energy, collective embodiment, and the place where creativity and self-discovery meet. For the past four seasons, she has been singing with SoCo Women’s Chorus and recently co-lead the pilot program for our Spark community performances. In addition to producing her own creative photography projects over the past 13 years, she continues to support the work of other artists, helping bring their visions to life behind the scenes and on stage. She holds dual degrees from Elon University in Music and Event Management.

About Blake:
Blake Musfeldt is a multi-instrumentalist and sophomore choral education student at the University of Texas Butler School of Music. He has performed with many choral and instrumental ensembles at prestigious events across the country, and is currently a member of the UT Concert Chorale, Hispanic Caribbean Ensemble, and Longhorn Singers. Outside of school, he is a freelance vocal arranger and musician, and enjoys exploring outdoors, spending time with friends, and singing with his barbershop quartet Divine Intervention.

Our Artistic Director, Lisa Sunset Holt, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. In a few weeks, she’ll be having surgery, followed by some time away from rehearsals to recover.

If you know Lisa, you know she’s already talking about getting back on the podium as soon as possible.😊 We’re making sure she has the time and space she needs for surgery and recovery while the chorus continues moving forward with lots of support around her.

Over the last several weeks, our leadership team has been working closely with Lisa to build a thoughtful coverage plan for the season. We’re also incredibly grateful for the friends and colleagues throughout Austin’s choral community who have already stepped forward to support Lisa and SoCo.

Our first HUGE THANK YOU goes to the *fantastic* Spencer Wiley who is stepping in to lead rehearsals for the next month as our Resident Clinician. We love him already! Thanks for sharing, Harker Heights HS Choirs!

Lisa remains very much at the heart of SoCo and our 15th season. She plans to return to conducting as soon as her doctors and her body give her the green light. Until then, we’ll keep singing, supporting one another, and making sure the chorus she loves is in very good hands.

Lisa also asked us not to be vague about why she is away. She wants to call breast cancer what it is, help raise awareness, and remind people to get your mammograms.

We love you, Lisa. We’re with you through surgery, recovery, and all the steps in between!

Join us for Joyful, Joyful! A Gospel Holiday. Celebrate the holiday season with a program of gospel and spiritual music, performed by 100 voices with a live band.

Saturday, December 12 at 6pm
Sunday, December 13 at 3pm

🎶 Hear favorites like “Rise Up Shepherd and Follow,” “Now Let Me Fly,” “This Little Light of Mine,” and “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” alongside Rollo Dilworth’s “Elijah Rock,” Rosephanye Powell’s “Have You Seen the Baby Jesus,” and, yes, we’re singing “Joyful, Joyful,” the gospel classic you might know from Sister Act 2.

🥁 Joining our 100-voice chorus is a live band featuring Mark Cruz on bass, Reggie Carter on Hammond organ, and Cole Koenning on drums.

🎁 After the performance, stay for a festive reception and browse our holiday silent auction, featuring gifts, experiences, and goodies donated by local Austin businesses.

🤟 Our Sunday performance will include American Sign Language interpretation. We will have designated seating to ensure clear visibility of the interpreter. Thank you Amber Galloway!

Big news at SoCo: Jina Chung is joining us as SoCo’s inaugural Executive Director!

Meet Jina:

Jina Chung is a nonprofit leader with more than 15 years of experience helping mission-driven organizations grow their fundraising, strengthen their operations, and build the systems they need to thrive. She brings particular experience in arts and media organizations, along with a passion for helping small nonprofits turn ambitious ideas into strong, lasting organizations.

Before joining SoCo, Jina served as Executive Director of Frequencies of Change Media, a nonprofit audio journalism organization, and held senior development roles at Color Congress and the International Documentary Association. During nearly nine years at IDA, she helped lead fundraising and partnerships as the organization grew significantly in both reach and revenue. Her work has spanned fundraising strategy, grants, organizational planning, financial systems, partnerships, and team leadership. A strong advocate for Community-Centric Fundraising, Jina believes in fundraising models rooted in equity, social justice, and strong community relationships.

Jina also works as an independent consultant to small arts and culture organizations and serves as Board Treasurer for OUTsider, an Austin transmedia arts festival. She holds an M.A. in Art History from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Art & Art History from Colgate University. Outside of work, Jina enjoys collecting stationery and journaling.
