Today we wanted to pause and thank these tireless volunteers for all of their hard work this Nutcracker season. Proceeds from the Gift Barre support Ballet Austin.

We are thrilled to announce that for the first time in the history of Ballet Austin’s production of THE NUTCRACKER, tickets for all 15 performances have sold out. This unprecedented response to this time-honored Austin holiday tradition make this year’s production both the top-selling and top-attended run of all time.
.
This would not have been possible without the generous support of the Austin community/ Central Texas and their eagerness to share the holiday season with Ballet Austin.
.
THANK YOU, AUSTIN!
.
Ballet Austin extends a wholehearted THANK YOU to those across Central Texas supporting this production for six decades, making this 60th Anniversary year one for the record books.
.
The 60th Anniversary Production includes a cast of over 150 people, ranging from Ballet Austin’s professional company dancers to students of Ballet Austin Academy. By the time this year’s run closes on December 23, THE NUTCRACKER will have been performed on the stage at The Long Center for the Performing Arts a total of 18 times for over 33,000 audience members.
.
As the longest-running production of THE NUTCRACKER in Texas, Ballet Austin looks forward to continuing to bring this cherished holiday tradition to audiences for many more years to come.
Over the last two days Ballet Austin welcomed 8,800 Central Texas elementary school children to The Long Center to experience the magic of a live performance of THE NUTCRACKER. We'd like to take a moment to thank Production Sponsor H-E-B for their generous support this season and the H-E-B Tournament of Champions Charitable Trust for their support of our Nutcracker School Shows.

Leading up to performances of Her Stories April 1-3 at the Long Center, we're taking time to feature each of the incredible female choreographers presenting their work for this production. This week we're spending time with Amy Seiwert to talk about music, process, and career. “The music is by Max Richter. It’s super emotive, super melodic, but it still has a lot of space in it. And what that means is that the choreographer can find their own voice within the voice of the music."
