Still room !

Join us for a weekly discussion of “The Gaza Strip: The Economic De-Development”. Written by Sara Roy who is a senior research scholar at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University. The book covers the time period from 1967 until 2015. It shows how life under occupation rendered Gaza unviable.

This is a deep dive as the book is expected to be covered in nine weeks. We look forward for a committed group of interested individuals to join us in this educational journey starting on 8/12.

We will meet at Central Market on North Lamar at 7pm. The sessions will be led by

Weekly book club reading Mornings in Jenin by Susan Abulhawa starting soon! 🔔

This historical novel follows a family as their lives are turned upside down after being ethnically cleansed from their Palestiniαn village during the Nakbα in 1948. A heart-wrenching story that spans five countries and four generations, this novel follows a Palestiniαn family through love and loss, war and oppression.

If you prefer fiction, this is a great way to learn more about the Nakbα and Pαlestinian resistance! 🇵🇸

Some snapshots from the last couple of events!

We did bleach painting and banner making at Future Front with and hosted a DIY Free Palestine art making event raising money for mutual aid in both Austin and Palestine, through and respectively

Art is not only a powerful but an accessible form of activism. Thank you to everyone who came out to make their own designs and spread the word of a Free Palestine. Anyone should feel empowered to take action and organize, and that can be as simple as painting bleach on a t-shirt. Let’s keep showing up for Palestine! Stay creative in your organizing and remember, “the role of an artist is to make revolution irresistible.”

While we celebrate a ceαsefire in Gαzα achieved by the enduring steadfastness and resistance of the Pαlestinian people, we must ask ourselves how almost 500 days of unimaginable atrocities could have ever happened.

From history, we can see time and time again Isrαel’s methodical dismemberment of Pαlestinian homeland and culture through violent οccupation. The genοcide of the Pαlestinian people did not start on Oct 7th but has been ongoing since 1948.

We must be vigilant and continue learning, organizing, and fighting for a Free Pαlestine until Pαlestine is free.

Join us in reading Gαzα in Crisis: Reflections on the US-Isrαeli War Against the Pαlestinians by Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pappé 📚

This book delves into the 2008 “Operation Cast Lead” AKA the Gαzα Massαcre and places the massαcre within the context of Isrαel’s long-standing war against the Pαlestinians. There is much to learn from the past to work towards a liberated future.
