“Don’t Let the Darkness,” an absolute classic was recently performed by Ed Jurdi & Gordy Quist discussed on Under at the Saxon Pub. 🎸 Alongside the beautiful rendition, Dock Roc & the Heathens Duo got into the song’s themes of resisting hopelessness and refusing to let the dark stuff take over.
There’s a relevant parallel here to clinical work: finding ways to make a little room for hope, possibility, and the idea that tomorrow might surprise you.
Sometimes the goal isn’t to eliminnate the darkness, it’s just to introduce the idea it doesn’t have to own what’s ahead 🎤😎.

We definitely followed the "Ain't No Time For a Bad Time" mantra during our first Austin PBS taping with the Louisiana Surf Department at the oh so unique Purple Bee TV studio. The room was packed at 3 on a Wednesday. AND we raised some money to support HAAM - Health Alliance for Austin Musicians and future episodes. We can’t wait to dive deep into “You’re Beautiful” on our upcoming Austin PBS–presented show. It’s one of the many we’re excited to share and dissect at Purple Bee. This clip captured last night during a packed 10 p.m set at Continental Club.
This song AND residency quickly becoming an ATX classic, and opportunity to catch this band before they blow up. But we are confident that’s happening.
