Lights, cameras, and opportunity — it's time for Dallas' close up! 🎬

With expanded state film incentives, growing local crews, new soundstages, and more productions choosing Dallas-Fort Worth over traditional hubs, the city’s film scene is booming. Local students and alumni are now finding real opportunities without leaving Texas. Could Dallas become the next Hollywood? Many in the industry think so. 🎥✨

What do ya'll think?🤔

For a few summer days that have become an Austin staple, classic films will screen on the big screen in 35mm before the theatre undergoes renovations to preserve this Austin treasure for decades to come. Don’t miss this last chance to enjoy the series at the original theatre! If you've never been, we highly encourage you to watch a movie in this special venue.

A double feature of Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon kicks it all off on the 22nd. Check out the full schedule here: https://tickets.austintheatre.org/events

🎬 Chasing Summer — Iliza Shlesinger’s heartfelt indie comedy — is officially being celebrated as a love letter to Texas! From Sundance premiere to SXSW buzz, this story of returning to your small-town roots hits close to home. Set in a small Texas town with nods to Texas A&M, Whataburger, and Buc-ees, the film encapsulates nostalgia, relationships, and what it means to grow up… and grow back together.

Starring Dallas-native Shlesinger and Smallville’s Tom Welling, this unique comedy-drama blends humor, heart, and Lone Star pride — perfect for anyone who’s ever wondered what “home” really means. 💛 No official widespread release yet, but it's exciting to see Texas continue to be represented in film! 🌵✨
